Search team finds SSJ100 voice recorder

An Indonesian search team has found the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of the Russian Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 that crashed last week killing all 45 people on board.
The CVR was found about 100 meters from the tail of the plane but the flight data recorder (FDR) remains missing, the BBC reported.
A.M. Putranto, tactical commander for the Indonesian army’s special forces, said his team found the CVR in the wreckage of the plane’s vertical stabilizer at 10 a.m. Tuesday, local time.
The CVR was opened in the presence of representatives of the Investigation Agency of the Indonesian Transport Ministry and the Russian team, which will jointly decode the CVR.
The SSJ100 crashed during a demonstration flight May 9. Rescuers reached the crash site, the almost sheer side of a volcano, the next day. The analysis of the air traffic control conditions during the flight is being performed in frame of the investigation.
