SuperJet International’s (SJI) board of directors has appointed Nazario Cauceglia as CEO of the company, a joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi (51%), a Finmeccanica company and Sukhoi Holding (49%). Cauceglia, who was chief technical officer of former Alenia Aeronautica (Alenia Aermacchi), succeeds Carlo Logli, who was head of SJI for more than a year.
SJI is responsible for Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) promotion and sales in Europe, the Mediterranean area, North and South America, Africa, Oceania and Japan.
Russian Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC), a SSJ100 manufacturer, received its European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) type certificate A-176 Friday.
