JATS turns to TFC for Embraer door trainer

German cabin simulator manufacturer TFC Simulatoren und Technik has been selected by Jordan Airline Training and Simulation (JATS), to supply an Embraer 195 Door Trainer.
TFC has been promoting its systems to the region and were part of a German pavilion at the Dubai Airshow last November. The company makes a full range of cabin training devices. The doo trainers fully simulate the aircraft door in normal and emergency modes of operation. Door malfunctions such as handle blocked, door blocked, slide inflation failure, power assist failure, as well as door observation window scenes, fire, water, stairs, obstructions etc. are all controlled by the instructors station to enable training schools like JATS to accurately simulate potential crew problems.
Closed loop electric servomotors control the angular movement, forces and velocity of the door operation in normal or emergency modes; this technology provides ease of maintenance and sustained reliability.
JATS originally founded as Royal Jordanian’s Training Center, is a leading independent airline and customer service training academy in the Middle East. As part of Eastern Holding they are located at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman.
The new Embraer Door Trainer 195 will be equipped with the main aircraft door including a visual system. By the visual system variable situations are being created illustrating diverse outside scenes through static and animated pictures.
