Singapore Airlines’ (SQ) new medium- to long-haul low-cost carrier Scoot took ownership of its first aircraft, a Boeing 777-200, Saturday.
The aircraft, purchased from SQ, will be joined by a second aircraft March 30. The two aircraft will undergo a heavy maintenance D check, have their interiors refitted with Scoot’s cabin product and be painted in Scoot’s livery before entering commercial service.
Scoot aims to start flying between Singapore and Sydney by the middle of this year.
