Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register (IAC AR) has issued a supplemental type certificate for the Boeing 747-8 aircraft, confirming the 747-8 freighter is in compliance with Russian and CIS standards.
The Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia’s Ministry of Transport had already given permission to operate commercial flights on this aircraft type.
At the end of January, Russian AirBridgeCargo airline (ABC) took delivery of the first of five 747-8Fs, becoming the first customer of the type in Russia. The aircraft will operate Europe-China service, and hopes to operate flights to North America.
