Russian S7 to expand its regional fleet


Russian S7 Group will announce its regional network development strategy at the end of the year, S7 Group CEO Vladislav Filev said. The S7 Group includes Sibir (S7) and Globus (GH).
According to Filev, S7 is considering the 10- to 70-seat Bombardier CRJ or ATR aircraft, and will decide which aircraft is a better fit for the MRO and operating infrastructure in Russia.
S7 and GH will choose either Tolmachevo (OVB) in Novosibirsk or Moscow Domodedovo (DME) as bases.
S7 operates 20 Airbus A319s, 11 A320s, one A310 and two Boeing 767-200s. GH has four 737-400s and six 737-800s.
In 2012, S7 Group carriers will expand their fleets with six A320s.
