Embraer 1Q deliveries up by one aircraft


Embraer delivered 21 aircraft in the 2012 first quarter, one more than last year. It reported 1,063 firm commercial jet orders and delivered 823 aircraft, with a firm order backlog of 240 aircraft and 689 options.
The company finalized sales for 12 new commercial jets, comprising 10 E-195s to Azul, one E-190 to BA CityFlyer and one E-170 to Japan Airlines. Ittotaled 189 E-170 firm orders with an order backlog of seven airplanes. Republic Airline (RW) is the largest operator with 48 aircraft, followed by US Airways (28) and Saudi Arabian Airlines (15). 
Embraer also recorded 189 firm orders for the E-175, with a backlog of 44 airliners. RW is the top operator with 54 aircraft, followed by Northwest (36) and Flybe (35).  
The 552 E-190 firm orders include JetBlue (88 aircraft) as the top customer, followed by Hainan Airlines (50) and Air Canada (45). Order backlog comprises 150 aircraft.
According to Embraer, it has 133 E-195s on firm order with an order backlog of 39. Top customer is Azul with 57 aircraft, followed by Lufthansa (34) and Flybe (14).
It expects to deliver between 105 and 110 commercial jets this year.
