Saudi Arabian Airlines has ordered eight additional Boeing 777-300ERs in an order valued at $2.4 billion at list prices. The order was announced as the carrier took delivery of its first two of the type from a previous deal for 12 aircraft, plus 10 options.
Boeing said this order was previously accounted for on its orders and deliveries website in 2011.
SV DG H.E. Eng. Khaled Al-Mulhim said, "With the ongoing growth of business and industry in Saudi Arabia, demand in domestic, regional and international travel is also increasing rapidly and the 777-300ER will play a significant role in our long-term strategy growth to expand and modernize our fleet with newer, more fuel-efficient airplanes."
SV took delivery of its first 777, a 777-200ER, in December 1997 and owns and operates 23 -200ERs, Boeing said.
